SUMMER GARDEN OPERATION SECTOR
As promised, we are starting the column #man_garden, so, SECTOR OF OPERATION OF THE SUMMER GARDEN
Only two “garden fairies” work in the sector: the head of the sector – Natalya Alekseevna Kuznetsova and the leading engineer – Elena Nikolaevna Mamedova.
Without exaggeration, they know everything about the garden. Every tree and numerous bushes, whose buds have begun to swell today after the winter, and who are already ready to bloom.
In addition to caring for all the plants in the garden, and there are more than 17,000 of them, it is necessary to keep track of all planar structures and small architectural forms, which include not only altars, flowerpots and stalls, but also paths, benches, wooden structures, berso and much more, to which usually, walking along the paths of the garden, we do not pay attention.
And if you were in the Red Garden, then you definitely saw the green pets of our colleagues, each seedling of herbs is grown by their caring hands from a seed to a full-fledged plant that bears fruit in the autumn. From vegetables ripened in the beds of the Red Garden, vegetable compositions are created for decorating the Summer Garden in the autumn.
And what citrus aromas are distributed annually in the small greenhouse of the Summer Garden, simply beyond words! After flowering, on each tree you can find lemons, tangerines, kumquats. You will understand how much work is invested in one tree if you have ever tried to sprout an orange seed. And in the greenhouse of the Summer Garden, one and a half hundred citrus trees.
They also grow oak trees for our program “All-Russian Oakwood of Emperor Peter the Great”. Each seedling goes through the stage of growing up through their magical hands: from collecting acorns under the memorial oak tree to the moment the seedling is sent to the planting site, which is a long 4 years.
The garden fairies of the Summer Garden, as we call them, know each plant not only by sight or by name, but also what disease it has, what insect has eaten it, and take measures to heal it. If necessary, they even treat and make nutrients to preserve the green organism.
And, of course, not a single action or event on the territory of the Summer Garden can do without their participation. In addition to helping in carrying out, they monitor the safety of the elements of the architectural and landscape composition of the garden.
It is sometimes difficult to imagine that two fragile women cope with such a volume of work and how many steps a day they pass through the garden.
