October 29 in the Labyrinth was planted alley of 36 seedlings of oak, brought by employees of the department of gardens of the Russian Museum from St. Petersburg. Young oaks were grown by the employees of the Summer Garden from acorns collected from the oldest oak of Peter’s time. In 2014, the Certification Commission of the All-Russian program “Trees – Monuments of Living Nature” gave the title “TREE-MONUMENT OF LIVING NATURE” to the petioled oak growing in the Summer Garden. The age of this oak is about 360 years. Planting seedlings from the oak of Peter’s time is a continuation of the tradition of planting oaks, which Peter I planted everywhere, where he was.
