Historically, since the middle of the 40s of the XX century, mainly women worked in the Summer Garden and the Palace Museum of Peter the Great. For example, in the list of garden employees for 1949, out of 50 employees, only six are men. Currently, the branch of the Russian Museum “Summer Garden, Mikhailovsky Garden and the Green Areas of the Museum” also mainly employs women.

Tender female hands restored the Summer Garden after the Great Patriotic War. Women affectionately looked after the green spaces of the garden and the marble sculpture. Scientific research was carried out by very pretty employees of the museum. The first two projects for the restoration of the Summer Garden were also developed by women architects. The summer garden as a beloved child was constantly under affectionate female care.

Congratulations to all the women of the Russian Museum Gardens. I would like to join the congratulation written by the director of the Summer Garden Evgenia Ionovna Korchagina in 1964. Of course, not in terms of implementing the “historical decisions of the XXII Congress of the CPSU,” but I wanted to quote the last paragraph in full and undersign it.

“I wish the women of our team a sunny mood, great personal happiness, children’s smiles, long youth! May all your dreams come true.”

Happy spring, dear women! Reliance and hope of the entire male population of the planet.
