Often, looking through photographs of past years, one involuntarily exclaims: “How many trees there were before!” But when comparing these two shots – the opposite reaction: “What kind of wasteland is captured in the first photograph”? The first picture was taken in the 30s of the XX century in the Mikhailovsky Garden. Most of the photographs are occupied by areas covered with sand and gravel, trees are visible only along the fence of the temple. The second photo of 2019, specially taken after the leaves fell completely, so that you can see the Church of the Savior on Blood from the same point of shooting.
