In the Mikhailovsky Garden, between flowering crocuses, curtains of blooming Siberian Proleski – Scilla sibirica Andr.<\/h4>\n

Perennial bulbous plant of the Hyacinth family. It grows in the south of the European part of Russia, Crimea, the Caucasus and Southern Europe. In Siberia, the redhead, despite the name, is not found. The description of the species was made from living plants grown from seeds, which were obtained from P. Pallas. The expedition, led by Pallas, began its journey from the banks of the Volga, and then proceeded to Siberia. Henry Andrews, the botanist who described this species, believed that the blueberry grows in Siberia. Although, Pallas collected the seeds in the Tsaritsyn area.<\/h4>\n

The plant has been widely used in ornamental horticulture since the end of the 18th century. The best places to grow woodland are under trees, around shrubbery, and on lawns. In the Mikhailovsky Garden, the lawns on which Siberian beetle grows are colored blue during flowering.<\/h4>\n
