\nMenagerie pond (from French – menagerie – menagerie, poultry house) is intended for keeping waterfowl. The pond was built according to a drawing by the gardener Jan Rosen in the early 1720s.<\/h4>\n

The pond was filled up in 1786, when all Peter’s garden ventures were removed. In 2011, the Menagerie Pond was recreated on the basis of the historical foundation discovered as a result of archaeological excavations and on the basis of the axonometric plan of Saint Hilaire. The center of the pond is decorated with an elegant gazebo, where the emperor talked with foreign guests invited to visit the Summer Garden. And also, as indicated in the archival records – if “I wanted to be alone”<\/h4>\n
