Rinaldi in 1768-1785. commissioned by Empress Catherine II for Count G. G. Orlov. After the death of Orlov, the palace was redeemed to the treasury, and in 1796 it was given into the possession of the Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich. In the 1840s the palace was rebuilt by A. Bryullov by order of the Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich. One of the last owners was the Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich, a wonderful Russian poet, whose private chambers have survived to this day.<\/h4>\n<h4>Since 1937, the Museum of V. I.
