In the Mikhailovsky Garden you can find – EUROPEAN KANDYK (Erythr\u00f3nium dens-c\u00e1nis) Spring bulbous plant.<\/h4>\n

The name comes from the ancient Greek word \u201cerythros\u201d – red, which is associated with the corresponding color of the flowers. The Russian name \u201ckandyk\u201d was borrowed from the languages of the Turkic group and means \u201cdog fang\u201d, this already refers us to the color and shape of the bulbs.<\/h4>\n

Naturally grows not only in the flowering valleys of Europe, but also in the highlands of the Alps. Both subtropical and temperate climates are suitable for European kandyk. Having been in cultivation since the second half of the 16th century, European kandyk added to the list with almost two dozen names of decorative varieties.<\/h4>\n
