OAK OLIVE-BROWN
There are many mushrooms in the vicinity of St. Petersburg this year. The Summer Garden is no exception. On many lawns of the garden, after the last rains, fruiting bodies of various types of mushrooms appeared.
Recently, on the slope of the Karpiev Pond, visitors could see the fruiting bodies of Dubovik ordinary. On the territory of the gardens of the Russian Museum, this mushroom is found precisely in the Summer Garden, where it forms mycorrhiza mainly with lindens and thus improves the nutrition of trees. Mycorrhizal fungi tremendously support the health of green spaces, and in the gardens of the Russian Museum they make up at least a third of the list of all identified species of fungi.
