The hare, which delighted the visitors of the Summer Garden and inspired our subscribers for almost two weeks, has been returned to its natural habitat. The special operation to capture him ended last Sunday.

The forest dweller, who caused a stir in the work of the Summer Garden employees, decided to explore new territories and on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, walked around the Mikhailovsky Garden, where in the morning his numerous traces were discovered.

Several times the hare traveled from the Summer Garden to Mikhailovsky and back. Specialists of the Committee for Nature Management and employees of the gardens of the Russian Museum have already begun to work out options for catching a fluffy guest, but it was almost impossible to catch a hare in the territory of two gardens. Here, a caring resident of one of the neighboring houses on the Griboedov Canal came to the aid of the specialists.

Oksana Alekseeva has been following the movement of the hare since its very first visit to the Mikhailovsky Garden and promptly passed on her observations to the staff of the Russian Museum. On Sunday, the big-eared guest found himself a small refuge in one of the art objects. Thanks to Oksana, the specialists managed to coordinate their actions and catch the traveler.

After the capture, the hare, which visited the historical center of our city, was released in a specially protected natural area where the local population of its relatives lives.
