THOUSAND TULIPS
Today in the Summer Garden there was an action “Blossoming Parterre”. The event is timed to coincide with the celebration of the 350th anniversary of Peter the Great, as well as the 100th anniversary of the restoration workshops of the Russian Museum. The employees of the restoration workshops planted 4,500 tulip bulbs in the Red Garden bosquet.
With a shot of the cannon of the Peter and Paul Fortress at 12:00, after a story about how to plant tulips, the employees set to work, similar tulips were planted in the 18th century. Tulips have been grown in the Summer Garden since its inception, when in the 18th century the gardeners of Peter the Great planted the first bulbs brought from Holland.
Already in May, visitors will be able to come to the garden and admire the results of their work.
