A BED IN NEW HOLLAND
In early July, a vegetable garden appeared next to the Forge building on New Holland Island, which was looked after by residents of the island and friendly projects – a similar garden existed on the island in 2011-2013 as part of the Summer in New Holland project, the tradition of planting vegetables was resumed in this year.
Twenty beds all summer grow different types of vegetables and fragrant herbs, which not only delight the eyes of visitors, but will also be used for cooking in cafes.
More than 15 different organizations took part in the project, including the Russian Museum. Today, on our makeshift garden bed, you can find green peppers, onions, beans, peas, basil, thyme and very fragrant oregano.
