COUNTING BIRDS ON FEEDERS
On January 10-12, the next citywide registration of birds on feeders will be held. As part of this action, on January 10, employees of the museum’s gardens, together with the teachers of the Museum Pedagogy Center, will hold the event “Bird Counting on the Feeding Tables of the Russian Museum Gardens”. During this action, students of school number 252 will find out which birds can be found on feeders located in the museum gardens. They will get acquainted with the method of counting birds, fill out the registration sheets. This knowledge will help schoolchildren in the future to independently count birds on feeders arranged near their schools or home.

In the program of the event:
10.15 – gathering participants in the guardroom;
10.30 – 10.50 – in the auditorium, briefing on how to count birds will be conducted by Ekaterina Zhukova, Ph.D., head of the accounting and monitoring of green spaces of the Russian Museum gardens;
11.00 – 11.40 – access to the gardens (Summer and Mikhailovsky Gardens) to the feeders in groups of 3-4 people and bird watching (a total of 8 observation points);
11.40 – 12.00 – collection of completed accounting sheets, the end of the action.
