CROCUS
Crocuses have bloomed in the Mikhailovsky Garden. This happened a couple of days later than in the Summer Garden. The name of this plant comes from the Greek word “kroke ‘”, which means “thread”, for the long stigmas of the pistil. In Russia, crocuses were widely used for spring decoration even in Moscow gardens.
The gardens of the Russian Museum are gradually filled with bright spring colors. There are 16 days left until the opening of the gardens.
