The Mikhailovsky Garden of the Russian Museum hosted the premiere of the audiovisual performance “The Other Side of the Palace”

The event was held as part of the third festival of PAO Gazprom “Friends of St. Petersburg”.

In the evening hours, the Mikhailovsky Garden was transformed into a magical world created from images of famous works of art, music by Russian composers and memories of significant moments in the history of the garden and the museum.

A team of professionals, students of creative universities and young artists of the “Friends of St. Petersburg” laboratory created a circular walk around the garden, one of the goals of which is to inspire guests to reflect on the importance of preserving masterpieces.

Fragments of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s operas “Sadko” and “The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia” were performed in the garden. The visual part of the performance is based on the rich collection of the Russian Museum, the central motif is the underwater world, inspired by the famous work of Ilya Repin “Sadko”.

Before the start of the performance, the head of the department of PJSC Gazprom, director of the fund for support of cultural initiatives Gazprom Elena Davydova, deputy general director of the Russian Museum Alexander Voronko, as well as the curators of the project spoke.
