VALLEY BLADDER
The question was:
FRUITS OF WHICH PLANT IS PICTURED IN THE PHOTO?
These are the fruits of Physocarpus opulifolius (L.) Maxim. – Viburnum ciliate. If you look closely at the bubbly fruits of this plant, it immediately becomes clear why it received such a name. The viburnum shrub was named for the similarity of its foliage with viburnum leaves.
The Vine-leaved bilberry was brought to Europe from North America in the middle of the 17th century. Dutch botanist Kaspar Kommelin called this shrub “Euonymus Virginiana Ribesii folio capsulis eleganter Bullatis”. What does it mean “Euonymus virginsky currant leaves capsule elegant bubbly”.
In 1753, Karl Linnaeus named the bladder Spiraea opulifolia L., that is, attributed it to the genus Spirea. And only in 1879, the Russian botanist Karl Ivanovich Maksimovich gave the modern scientific name Physocarpus opulifolius (L.) Maxim.
Bubbles is a deciduous shrub that is widely used in landscaping. Hedges and curtains are created from it. The bladder has a number of decorative varieties with different foliage colors.
