RUSSIAN ROCK IN THE MIKHAILOVSKY GARDEN
The answer to the riddle that was posted on the group’s wall on August 14.
The photograph, taken in 1986 on the lawn of the Mikhailovsky Garden, was supposed to decorate the cover of the “Red Wave” album.
The full title of the album is Red Wave: 4 Underground Bands From The USSR (“Red Wave: 4 underground bands from the USSR”). Rock groups took part in the recording of the album: “Kino”, “Strange Games”, “Alisa”, “Aquarium”. In the photo shown are the members of these groups, as well as Sergey Kuryokhin and Joanna Stingray.
Joanna Stingray took out recordings of songs from the USSR, and the album was released in the United States in the amount of 10,000 copies. But the issuing company did not like the proposed cover photo. Therefore, a different image was placed on the cover of the collection, which, according to the publishers, better conveyed the surroundings of the USSR. It shows the leaders of the rock groups “Kino”, “Strange Games”, “Alisa”, “Aquarium” against the background of Red Square.
Correctly answered the question: Elizaveta Feofanova, Alena Polikovskaya, Alexander Shalakitsky. Thanks for answers.
