March 10, 2020 will mark exactly 300 years since the modern type of archives appeared in Russia. On this day in 1720, the General Regulation was adopted.

The gardens of the Russian Museum are actively working with the archives of the city. In 2019, together with city archives, an exhibition dedicated to the 315th anniversary of the garden was organized on the main alley of the Summer Garden (the exhibition is still working). The Archival Committee, city, federal and departmental archives kindly provided photographs, plans, documents on the history of the development of the Summer Garden.

Here is a list of archives with which the gardens of the Russian Museum are actively collaborating:
Russian State Historical Archive (RGIA).
Russian State Archive of the Navy (RGAVMF).
