Three seedlings of the All-Russian oak grove of Peter the Great appeared on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, numbered 225, 226 and 227. Each seedling has a certificate, and the planting site is marked on an interactive map on the site “Gardens of the Russian Museum”.
The program “All-Russian oak grove of Peter the Great”, timed to coincide with the 350th anniversary of the emperor, is a symbol of the connection between times and all Peter’s iconic places. Planting oak seedlings from Peter the Great’s time is a continuation of the traditions of oak planting by Peter the Great, and also makes an invaluable contribution to the preservation of the valuable natural gene pool.
