The conservation of the sculpture in the Summer Garden for the winter period has been completed.

The method of covering marble sculptures with cloth and boards from boards was proposed by the sculptor Vasily Ivanovich Demut-Malinovsky in 1826. This method is still used today.
In 1941, wooden shields for winter storage of the Summer Garden sculpture were used to hide the sculpture in the ground. The walls of the pit, dug to cover the sculpture, were covered with shields, then sand was poured into it, and the sculpture was placed. Another shield was laid on top. The sculptures carried out the entire blockade in such shelters. This helped preserve the unique marble sculpture of the Summer Garden during the war. In the spring of 1945, the sculpture was removed from the shelters and installed in the Summer Garden.
