Friends, winter is already very close and cold weather will come soon. And although many birds have already flown to warm lands, many birds winter in our region, which need help in cold weather. Today, the guests and staff of the gardens of the Russian Museum installed O’KEY feeders and prepared food for the birds.

Every year on November 12, Sinichkin Day is celebrated, a Russian ecological holiday initiated by the Russian Bird Conservation Union. On this day, the inhabitants of our country are preparing to meet the “winter guests” – birds that remain for the winter in the Russian regions: tits, goldfinches, bullfinches, jays, tap dancers, waxwings and others.

Until spring, everyone can join the staff of the gardens and help feed the birds at a difficult time for them.

In the winter season, titmouse treats are used: unsalted bacon, unroasted pumpkin, sunflower or peanut seeds.

Friends! We want to remind you of simple, but such important rules for feeding birds. Universal food for poultry – raw sunflower seeds (husked or peeled), you can also use dried berries (mountain ash, hawthorn), nuts. In frosts, it is recommended to feed the birds with lard without salt.
