Today the workers of the gardens of the Russian museum opened the season of winter feeding of birds, and they were even helped by visitors.

Sinichkin day is celebrated in Russia on November 12, since it was on this day that birds wintering in our area flew closer to human habitation. Children, under the guidance of adults, made and hung up the feeders. At the same time they said: “Feed the birds in the winter – they will serve you in the spring.”

Winter is a tough time for birds! Many of them flew to warm regions, to the south. But there are those that remained in the city – sparrows, bullfinches, titmouses. It is these small, cute, beautiful birds, more than everyone else, who need our care in winter! What is the right way to feed the birds in order to bring them benefit, not harm ?!

Feeders are installed in the gardens of the Russian Museum to attract birds to the gardens; we urge all visitors to feed the birds correctly and very responsibly.

REMINDER WHAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO FEED THE BIRDS.
The best food for poultry is raw sunflower seeds (in hulls or peeled), dried berries (mountain ash, hawthorn), nuts.
In frosts, it is recommended to feed the birds with fat without salt.

DEADLY FOR BIRDS!
Spicy, salty, fried, spoiled and moldy foods, raw rice and rye bread.

Enjoy your walks in the gardens
