Before the Summer Garden opened its doors to visitors, a botanical riddle was voiced. Link: https://vk.com/rusmuseum.gardens?w=wall-6269987_4490

The question was:
WHAT PLANT IS IMPRINTED IN THE PHOTO, AND WHERE CAN IT BE USED?

That’s right – this is an ordinary, malicious weed, but at the same time a medicinal and food plant.

Before Karl Linnaeus, this plant was called: Podagraria germanica aut belgica or Podagraria aegopodium. This name was given to dreaming because since ancient times this plant has been used to treat gout. In 1753 Linnaeus gave this herb the name Aegopodium podagraria L. The generic name comes from the words “aix” – a goat and “pous” – a leg, for the similarity of the leaves of the dream with the hooves of a goat. Linnaeus borrowed the specific name from ancient naturalists. The most common Russian name “snit” comes from “food”, that is, food, for the edible leaves of this plant. Other popular names for this plant: Bodka, Grumble, Dedilnik, Yaglitsa, Schnittka.

As our subscribers wrote, moaning is called blockade weed. In the spring of 1942, this plant, together with other wild-growing edible plants, helped Leningraders survive. Dream leaves contain a significant amount of vitamin C and up to 20% protein. Therefore, snake is used for making salads (young leaves), added to soups, side dishes and even cutlets are made. Dreamy leaf stalks can be salted and pickled for use in winter salads. Runny is a very fragrant plant, so before making salads and especially preparations, make sure that all your household members like the smell of this plant.
Common snake has found application in ornamental gardening. Its variegated form (Aegopodium podagraria “variegata”) is used to create flower beds and lawns in shaded areas of the garden.

No need to disdain weeds, because many of them are valuable medicinal and food plants that are very accessible to humans, the main thing is to know about it.
