Again, a meme from the staff of the Accounting and Monitoring Sector of the Gardens of the Russian Museum. Many people like mushrooms: fried, salted, pickled, a soup of dried mushrooms is simply an overeating. And in the gardens of the Russian Museum, mushrooms are loved for their important role in the ecosystem of the gardens, so observing the mushrooms is considered a necessary event. If the fruiting bodies of wood-destroying mushrooms appear on the tree, this is a signal: “There is something wrong with the tree.” If there are fewer fruiting bodies of mycorrhizal and humus-forming mushrooms on the lawns, this is a signal: “You need to pay attention to the soil.” Similar examples can be continued indefinitely. Since 2012, the garden accounting and monitoring sector has been monitoring mushrooms and in past years there has been tremendous help from mycologists working in research institutions. This year, no one can come to our aid.

Many thanks to mycologists who help the gardens of the Russian Museum.
