Kazan was founded in 1005 and is the third capital of Russia. Peter was the first crown-bearer after Ivan the Terrible to visit Kazan. And in the Kazan province it was ordered to “keep the strictest”, it was also ordered to make an inventory of protected forests and plant oak groves in convenient places.

Currently, the relevance of environmental education is increasing, and this is especially important when educating the younger generation. In Kazan, as well as throughout the territory of Tatarstan, children’s environmental and biological centers play an important role in the environmental activities of schoolchildren, which are engaged not only in environmental, but also in patriotic education.

On the last day of September this year, seedlings of the Petrovsky oak of the Summer Garden were transferred to the ecological and biological centers of Tatarstan, and a ceremonial planting of one of the 3-year-old oak trees took place in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest. The planting was attended not only by the head, employees and pupils of the ecological and biological center of the city of Kazan, but also by the participants of the “Green Cities” program.
