In September 2020, within the framework of the project “All-Russian oak grove of Emperor Peter the Great” in Lodeynoye Pole, three seedlings were planted grown from acorns of an oak, which is a “Tree – a monument of wildlife”.

The last two photos show what these seedlings look like now. Dubkov, of course, is not visible. In Lodeynoye Pole there are snowdrifts half a meter high. Pegs of a protective fence peep out from under the snow. In the background is the Svir River.

The seedlings are looked after by the master of gardening and park economy Ksenia Sergeevna Strong. Under her leadership, a fence was made around each oak tree, the trunks of the seedlings were tied to pegs. Before winter, the root collar was covered with earth. Then they covered it with spruce branches. And then winter covered all this with a blanket of snow. This is how the seedlings of the Petrovsky oak are looked after.

We invite the rest of the project participants to send photos of your oak trees.
