Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova took part in the ceremony of planting a seedling of Peter the Great oak in Tashkent on the territory of a unique architectural monument – the Palace of Nikolai Konstantinovich Romanov.

“The oak tree of Peter the Great, whose seedling will show off in the center of the capital of Uzbekistan from today, has been growing in the very center of St. Petersburg near the Summer Palace of Peter the Great in the Summer Garden for more than three hundred years. The oak itself has the honorary status of “Tree – a monument of wildlife” and is a contemporary of the founder of the Northern capital of Russia. The program of the State Russian Museum “Peter the Great’s Oakwood” has turned from an all-Russian project into a large-scale international action. I hope that today’s event will become a symbol of friendship between our peoples and the further development and deepening of cultural ties,” the minister said.
