GARDENS OF THE RUSSIAN MUSEUM IN THE WORKS OF PAINTING
We continue to acquaint the group members with the museum gardens in painting.
The author depicted the Kurdoner fence, designed by K. Rossi, from an unusual angle. Most of the fencing photographs were taken from the side of the Arts Square, and in the picture the lattice is drawn from the courtesan of the Mikhailovsky Palace. In addition to the fence, a piece of the garden fell into the drawing, which was broken in the courdonier before the war. The garden in the post-war disorder looks a bit neglected, but the hedge along the fence is trimmed, the snow is removed, the gates are open. The museum works and receives visitors.
The author of the picture is Antonina Vasilievna Lyubimova (1899 – 1983).
