Peter I created the garden of his summer residence, like a garden of fountains. Their number in the garden was constantly changing. Some fountains were removed, others were built, and still others were remodeled. In the Summer Garden, besides the usual fountains, there were firecracker fountains, musical fountains, cascades, fountains decorated with sculptures. All of them were removed and filled up in the 80s of the 18th century.

Now in the Summer Garden, eight fountains have been recreated according to old drawings and the results of archaeological excavations.
