Exactly 317 years ago, the construction of the Peter and Paul Fortress began, and this is considered the date of foundation of the beautiful city of St. Petersburg.

A little later, soldiers cut down a log house for Peter I from logs. The Admiralty begins to be built. Mansions are being erected on Vasilievsky Island for Menshikov.
And on the site of the Swedish estate, Ivan Matveev begins to equip the king’s summer residence, which over time has turned into a wonderful Summer Garden.

In 1712, St. Petersburg became the capital of the Russian Empire and remained so until 1918. The loss of metropolitan functions only added charm to the city. He became simpler and kinder.

During its existence, the city from a fortress turned into a large metropolis, while the buildings and ensembles of the 18th and 19th centuries were preserved. A special atmosphere has been preserved, which is the pride of the townspeople and which attracts tourists from all over the world.

I would like to wish St. Petersburg further prosperity.
