The author of the drawing in graphite pencil is Anna Petrovna Ostroumova-Lebedeva. The drawing is called “Petersburg. Monument to Krylov in the Summer Garden”. And it was made in 1901.

Anna Petrovna chose a peculiar, casual view of the monument. At the same time, the drawing conveys all the power of the monument. All the energy that its author put into this work is the sculptor Pyotr Karlovich Klodt. The monument to Ivan Andreevich Krylov, since its installation in 1855, has been a place of attraction for visitors to the Summer Garden. Most of the photographs were taken against the background of the monument.

Anna Petrovna has followers. In the third photo, an aspiring artist in the open air depicted a monument to Krylov. The buttons are especially impressive.

Enjoy your walks in the Gardens of the Russian Museum. Take a piece of paper and a lead pencil. You can get a masterpiece.
