The statue was made by the sculptor F. Kabianka in late 1716 – early 1717 and then brought to St. Petersburg (together with the paired sculpture “Vertumn”).

Pomona – the ancient Roman goddess of fruits and fruit growing, the wife of Vertumna, she is represented leaning on a trunk with a grape shoot, apples at her right leg.
