Today, Lukoil LLC solemnly handed over four figured majolica vases to replace those damaged and lost during a heavy wind in September 2020.

The tradition of installing flower vases on the Main Parterre during the summer period dates back to the times of Peter the Great. Later, as a result of numerous floods, the vases were lost or taken out of the garden.
During the restoration of the Summer Garden, decorative items were recreated based on shards found during archaeological work. All of them were performed by the Pallada company. In total, fourteen vases are installed on the Front Parterre and they are an important part of the historical composition of the garden, beautiful roses bloom in them every year. Rose bushes need to be renewed every few years.

About a million visitors annually admire the blooming of these roses. They are included in the famous poems and are one of the symbols of the Summer Garden.

This year hybrid tea roses of the “Augusta-Louise” variety were provided by the perennial plant nursery ALEXANDROVSKY SAD in Pushkin.
Roses of the Augusta-Louise variety in figured vases on the front parterre of the Summer Garden will become a landmark gift for the 30th anniversary of Lukoil LLC.

We would like to thank the Small Trianon collective for the performance, a unique collective working in the Baroque and Rococo aesthetics.
