More than 80 years have passed between the two moments captured in the photographs.
The first photograph, taken in the mid-1930s, shows the alley leading to the Rossi Pavilion. This path was laid at the beginning of the 20th century and repeated the system of alleys of the Third Summer Garden.

During the restoration of the Mikhailovsky Garden in 2001-2003, this path was removed.

But the old linden trees that framed the alley perfectly show its outline.

Enjoy your walks in the gardens of the Russian Museum.
